Why do we study Earth Science?
Reason #1
Preparation for snowstorms and information about when and how much precipitation we will get. (Historic Baltimore, MD snowstorms, Winter, 2011)
Reason #2
Preparation for hurricanes like Irene. Knowledge of severe weather allows citizens to prepare by securing food, water, and batteries to weather the storm.
Reason #3
Know what to do during an earthquake, tornado, tsunami, or other natural disaster.
Reason #4
Be a responsible citizen by being informed about natural resources, their effective use, and conservation.
